EMR/EHR

The EMR/Practice Management Conundrom

At DataPulse, we firmly believe there is no one-size-fits-all EMR solution. There are too many variations by specialty, practice size and documentation style.

At the same time, we don't believe that a practice should put their financial footing at risk, by having as a sole option an "included" billing system from an EMR vendor that may be otherwise attractive from a clinical perspective. The typical private practice simply can't exist with a marginally capable billing system. And the best documentation system has little value, if cash flow dries up and the doors can't be kept open.

To put this another way, does it make sense to risk the financial health of a practice on a billing system that is "unproven"? Should you be a "guinea pig" for a practice management application from a company whose clear focus is clinical, rather than financial?

The Best of Breed Approach

The obvious answer is the "best-of-breed" approach. This allows a practice to select the EMR that is best suited for their needs, while having the security of an established  practice management system that is proven and locally supported.

DataPulse PM Works with Most EMRs

As a consequence of all these factors, at DataPulse, we are firmly committed to working with a variety of EMR companies.

The selection of DataPulse as your practice management system provides EMR options. Unfortunately, the selection of alternative systems may restrict a practice's EMR or billing options, which could cause disruption should either the clinical or financial component fail to meet expectations.

Integration Method

Most EMR companies use a standardized interface to integrate with outside practice managment systems. When you choose an EMR there is an excellent chance that DataPulse will be able to integrate with it. For a list of systems that we currently interface with, click on the Integrations tab at the top of the page.
